Public beta coming soon

Shine new light on the music you've made your own.

LibraryMix Studio is now in external beta with a small group of testers. The public beta will open next, after the current build has been proven across a wider range of real Music libraries and Macs.

Public beta: not open yet. LibraryMix Studio has already been tested with libraries ranging from a few dozen tracks to more than 119,000. Register your interest and we will let you know when public access opens.

What to test

  • First-time setup and Music automation permissions.
  • Library audit and metadata refresh.
  • LibraryMix Radio — especially whether the finished playlist feels appropriate to the chosen seed song.
  • LibraryMix Rediscover.
  • Spotify export.
  • Overall usability, performance and reliability.

Mac compatibility

LibraryMix Studio itself supports macOS 11.5 and later. Apple's TestFlight app for Mac requires a newer macOS release, so TestFlight will be the main beta route on compatible Macs. A signed and notarised direct-download build is planned for older supported Macs that cannot run TestFlight.

Current beta limitations

Last.fm discovery and LibraryMix Gigs rely on third-party APIs. API setup is temporarily unavailable to new beta users while permissions are being finalised. The core audit, LibraryMix Radio, Rediscover and Spotify export features can still be tested without those APIs.

Before you start

  1. Keep Music installed and available on your Mac.
  2. When macOS asks, allow LibraryMix Studio to control Music.
  3. Choose an Audit Folder when LibraryMix asks for one. LibraryMix stores its audit CSV files there.
